Apple Mobile Devices: Add Account

Note: Steps are compatible with 3G and 4.0
  1. Tap the Settings icon.
  2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendar."
  3. Tap "Add Account."
  4. Tap "Other."
  5. Tap "Add Mail Account."
     
    WARNING: Do not edit an existing email account. You must use the Add Mail Account feature or you will lose your current email. This only applies if you use your mobile device exclusively to send/receive email or if you have not already configured an additional email client using setup instructions provided from one of the above links.
  6. Name: Enter your first and last name. This is the name that will appear in the "From" field of messages you send.
  7. Address: Enter your entire email address (e.g., someone@mydomain.com).
  8. Password: Enter the password for your account.
  9. Description: Enter a descriptive name for your email account such as Work Email or Home Email.
  10. Tap the "Next" button.

Apple Mobile Devices: Incoming Mail Server

  1. Tap the "IMAP" button.
  2. Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
  3. User Name: Enter your entire email address (e.g., someone@mydomain.com).
  4. Password: Enter the password for your email account.

Apple Mobile Devices: Outgoing Mail Server

  1. Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
  2. User Name: Enter your entire email address (e.g., someone@mydomain.com).
  3. Password: Enter the password for your email account.
  4. Tap the "Save" button.
  5. The device will verify the settings and return to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" screen.

Apple Mobile Devices: Configure Default Folders

  1. Tap Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Select your account, scroll down and Tap Advanced
  2. Under Mailbox Behaviors, tap Drafts Mailbox.
  3. Under On the Server, tap Drafts.
  4. Tap Advanced and Tap the Sent Mailbox.
  5. Under On the Server, tap Sent.
  6. Tap Advanced and then Tap Deleted Mailbox.
  7. Under On the Server, tap Trash.
